You have to hand it to the lovely people at Pump House. Not only did they deliver another fabulous fishing event, they also seem able to control the weather!
There was torrential rain for the duration of the drive to Droitwich the previous evening and it was a similar story just 15 minutes after the end of the match, with a spectacular hailstorm thrown in for good measure. In between though, conditions for the fishing were stunning, with clear skies and warm sunshine.
Around 90 people headed to Woodland View Fisheries and, fortified by a hearty breakfast, made the most of the weather by bagging some impressive weights. Carl Fretwell, of Complete Cooling Services in Nottingham, was the overall winner on the day.
The traditional hog roast feast and prizegiving capped another day to remember and the 9th annual event raised £415 for the Maytree Sanctuary, in memory of former Pump House employee Luke Beard.
